The detectives ask Bundy about Melissa Smith whose father was the police chief of the town I grew up in, Midvale, Utah. Melissa and her family lived 5 miles from me and my family and she was my brother's friend. Carol DaRonch was kidnapped just 5 minutes from my house from the mall my friends and I hung out at all the time. My sister worked at that mall when Bundy was committing his crimes in Utah. One night a volkswagen beetle followed her from work and left when she walked in the house. She believes it was Bundy. My mom drove her to work from that time on.
The night before his execution, which was carried out on January 29th, 1989, it has been reported that he wept and prayed throughout the night.
